The Third Session of Union Parliament
The 3rd Session of the Pyidaungsu Hluttaw was virtually held on 5th February 2022 and 285 MPs of the Pyidungsu Hluttaw among 446 elected parliamentarians from 2020 general election were present.
A group of observers and guests including Union Ministers, Deputy Ministers from the National Unity Government (NUG), Ambassadors and diplomats from international embassies, international organizations, parliamentary bodies and parliamentarians, parliamentary development partners and specialist were also present in the session.
In the third session of the Pyidaungsu Hluttaw, MPs and guests took part in a minute’s silence to honor the fallen democracy defenders who made the ultimate sacrifice, giving their lives, in the past and current struggles.
Later, the Speaker of the Pyidaungsu Hluttaw H.E. U Aung Kyi Nyunt, Acting President of the National Unity Government (NUG) H.E. Mr. Duwa Lashi La, Union Prime Minister of the National Unity Government (NUG) H.E. Mahn Win Khaing Than delivered speech at the opening.The statement of the Pyidaungsu Hluttaw was submitted by MP Mr. Robert Nal Yel and the Pyidaungsu Hluttaw was approved by the agreement of the attended MPs. The Report of the Committee Representing Pyidaungsu Hluttaw, the Report of the National Unity Government (NUG), the Report about the situation of the Regions and States were submitted by respective Hluttaw Representatives and the Pyidaungsu Hluttaw recorded the reports.
