Second session of the regular meeting of the 3rd Pyidaungsu Hluttaw was convened virtually via online conferencing system by members of the Pyidaungsu Hluttaw who were elected by the people of Myanmar during the General Election held on 8th November, 2020 at 10:00 AM today.

The session was chaired by U Aung Kyi Nyunt, Chairman of the Committee Representing Pyidaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH) and totally 271 members of the Pyidaungsu Hluttaw from different states/regions were in attendance at the session. During the session, Speaker of the Pyidaungsu Hluttaw, U Aung Kyi Nyunt addressed that the people of Myanmar had voted for different representatives from different political parties during the General Election held on 8th November 2020 in accord with the essence of the democracy, the illegal coup was staged by military leaders who did not compete for a seat during the election on early morning of the day when first session of the regular meeting of the 3rd Pyidaungsu Hluttaw was about to be convened on 1st Feb 2021, the first session was successfully held via online system on 5th Feb 2021 by the participation of 63% of the Members of the Parliaments (MPs), from which the Committee Representing Pyidaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH) was formed with 15 MPs, the number of which is now increased into 20 with the MPs of 3 ethnic political parties besides NLD party while totally 54 MPs from 8 different committee of the Hluttaw are unwaveringly serving their duties of representing, law drafting, and oversight amidst the different challenges, and mentioned that abolishing 2008 constitution, formation of National Unity Consultative Council (NUCC), approving Federal Democracy Charter, and formation of National Unity Government (NUG) were done accordingly.

He added that there are 21 members of the Pyidaungsu Hluttaw including State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi and President U Win Myint who are being abducted by the military council with the gun power, and also some other members who cannot attend the session due to the security concern, expressing his appreciation to those who attend the session from the ethnic armed organizations (EAOs) controlled areas for their royalty toward the people while there are 70 MPs who are being abducted by the military council, and also some who are being persecuted arbitrarily. He announced that the Pyidaungsu Hluttaw would acknowledge role of Generation Z members along with other generations, CDM staff, protest leaders, CSOs, and the public as a whole who are involving in this Myanmar Spring Revolution to end the dictatorship in Myanmar by scarifying their lives and livelihood, declared that the Pyidaungsu Hluttaw also sincerely appreciates all supports and help given by international parliaments, governments, and their public, and concluded his address by urging all attendees to serve the duties given by people with strong determination and loyalty, to make continuous effort by considering that only the truth prevail over the untruth eventually, and to try best with full of perseverance, mindfulness, and wisdom in performing different tasks for the establishment of Federal Democracy Union that our generations and ethnic people long for.

Afterward, submission of and acquiring approval for report of the Committee Representing Pyidaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH) by one CRPH member, submission of and acquiring approval for report of the National Unity Government by the Prime Minister, briefing on further updated related to the activities of the National Unity Consultative Council (NUCC), hearing on reports submitted by different states/regions representatives of the Pyidaungsu Hluttaw, and acquiring approval for them respectively were done accordingly.

Then, in the concluding remark made by the Speaker of the Pyidaungsu Hluttaw, he expressed his appreciation for the presentation and suggestion made by different states/regions representatives, explained that the terrorist activities can be brought under control only if there prevails rule of law and civilians administrations by ending rule by law system, discussed that convening this Pyidaungsu Hluttaw session to present activities conducted by CRPH, NUG, and NUCC reflects the fact that role of people in general, the ultimate owner of power, cannot be ignored and suppressed, and added that further sessions will be convened accordingly, afterwards the session came to an end successfully.
