1. The strength of the people’s faith, along with the Tetra Eight democratic movement, remains strong and vibrant to this day in the struggle for democracy across the ages. The Committee Representing Pyidaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH) expresses its joy and pride that, with the momentum of the current Spring Revolution, the people of Myanmar and ethnic revolutionary forces are advancing in unity to dismantle and overthrow the brutal military dictatorship and to restore democracy.
2. The purpose of democracy is to protect every citizen from domination by any individual or entity and to give all people the power and authority to participate fully in civic life. Citizens must not only have equal rights to take part in government and institutions, but also the freedom to prevent the rise of brutal single-party military dictatorships. Building a democratic state where every citizen can fully enjoy their rights through public governance is an essential undertaking.
3. Throughout history, Myanmar’s democratic system has been threatened and destroyed by military dictatorships wielding violent force. Today, the entire population continues to suffer serious human rights violations, including arbitrary arrests and imprisonment, inhumane extrajudicial killings, torture, arson, and airstrikes. Millions of people remain displaced and homeless.
4. As a direct result of the military dictatorship, people of all genders, are dying daily through acts of violence. From 2021 to 12 September 2025, 7,234 democracy activists and ethnic citizens have been killed by the terrorist military junta and its affiliates. Additionally, between July and September 12, 2025 alone, according to the data collected and verified by the Assistance Association for Political Prisoners (AAPP) 180 men were confirmed dead nationwide, with the actual figure likely even higher.
5. The Committee Representing Pyidaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH) urgently calls on ASEAN, neighboring countries, the United Nations, and all international and regional organizations and individuals committed to democracy, to act immediately. Every day, the people of Myanmar endure horrific suffering from the inhumane crimes of the terrorist military junta. We therefore urge the international community to stop these atrocities and to categorically reject the scam elections that the junta seeks to stage illegally. The Committee Representing Pyidaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH) emphasizes that such an election will never bring genuine justice to the people of Myanmar.
6. The Committee Representing Pyidaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH) affirms that the highest form of democracy is a system in which the people govern themselves with moral integrity and wisdom. In keeping with the 2025 International Day of Democracy theme, “From Voice to Action,” the CRPH issues this statement to reaffirm our commitment to work hand in hand with ethnic revolutionary organizations and democratic forces at home and abroad, turning the people’s voice to concrete democratic action.
