The Committee Representing Pyiduangsu Hluttaw has sent the letter regarding to the terrorist airstrike with helicopter of military junta on a self-supported school of local residents in Lat Yat Kone village, Tabayin township, Sagaing region on 16 September 2022, to the United Nations, ASEAN, the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) and the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA) and urged the governments and parliaments to make condemnations and take possible actions on military junta.
Since that day, CRPH have closely worked with human rights and child rights groups and Chairman U Aung Kyi Nyunt who is currently in New York together with high level delegation of Myanmar, highlighted such cruel war crime in this meetings.
In this attack, at least six students were killed and many were heavily injured by After the cruel airstrike, the ground troops of military terrorist arrested about 20 students and teachers including the injured persons.
Since the attempt of illegal coup, over 350 children have been killed because of indiscriminate aerial bombings and gun shootings on local residents and IDP camps, and 1500 have now been detained unlawfully.
Approximately 65 children were detained as the hostages to pressure the parents who is against military coup and over 14000 have been displaced due to the cruel actions of military junta’s troops. Moreover, over the half of child population have been lost their rights to access education and schooling.
The CRPH will be closely working and cooperating with governments and all organizations to protect children from violence and killings by military troops including air war on the schools and children, and to take necessary actions on the military troops under international laws.
