Ministry of Human Rights, the National Unity Government of Myanmar presented a study paper on the 1982 Myanmar Citizenship Law at the regular virtual meeting of the Committee Representing Pyidaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH) on 11 November 2022 at 07:00 PM.
At the opening, CRPH Chairman U Aung Kyi Nyunt delivered the remark and later, U Aung Myo Min, Union Minister for Human Rights presented a paper related to findings on the1982 Citizenship Law and ministry’s recommendation regarding the rights and criteria of citizenship without discrimination and with international practices. Union Minister highlighted the week points of 1982 Citizenship Law, comparisons with international human rights law and practices, and the suggestion for law-makings and policy enhancement in the future federal state and their future plan to be continued in accordance with policy and agenda of the National Unity Government which grantee values and norms of human rights.
Members of the Committee Representing Pyidaungsu Hluttaw and officials of CRPH Secretariat and Ministry of Human Rights also attended the meeting.
