Topic: (a) The waiving of all domestic electric bills and meter services (free of charge) for all units starting from February 1, 2021.
(b) Temporary suspension on the collection of all non-domestic electric bills and meter services for all units starting from February 1, 2021.
Citation: Decision made at National Government meeting (No. 1/2021) led by the Temporary Vice President.
- Under the directive of the National Government, the Ministry of Electricity and Energy had already instructed to waive all domestic electric bills between (1) to (150) units until January 31, 2021 citing the need to mitigate the economic and mental hardships of the people due to COVID-19.
- At current, in addition to COVID-19 pandemic, the irresponsible actions of the military coup-makers have negatively affected the people’s mental and physical health, as well as caused unprecedented social and economic damages. In light of these events, domestic electric bills and meter services have been suspended (free of charge) without exception starting from February 1, 2021 until further notice.
- The collection of non-domestic electric bills and bills for other services has been suspended starting from February 1, 2021 until further notice.
- Therefore, starting from February 1, 2021, it is no longer necessary to pay for domestic electric bills and meter services for all units, as well as non-domestic electric bills and bills for other services.
