The International Relations Committee has the responsibilities to perform enhancing parliamentary diplomacy including cooperating and friendship with local and international parliaments, parliamentary organizations and parliamentarians in order get their contribution to cease military rule and to return democracy in Myanmar with their official recognition and cooperation.
The Committee exercises its mandates not only strengthening parliamentary diplomacy and relations but also making wider-understanding of international community on the human rights violations against Myanmar people and on-ground situation in Myanmar. In addition, it participates in the regional and international parliamentary meetings and workshops.
The Committee works together with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Human Rights and also cooperates with local and international parliaments, parliamentary organizations including the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), human rights organizations and individuals in order to have accountability and to take necessary actions such as targeted political and economic sanctions against the military junta for their war crimes and crimes against humanity.
